Perfect Mum By: Lizzie O’Halloran

NefretitiM: Today on Literary Links we have Lizzie O’Halloran author of Perfect Mum. Thank you for joining us.  What inspired you to write Perfect Mum?

Lizzie O’Halloran: As a mother of two young children & a professional Counsellor & Life Coach I know first hand the challenges mothers face. After my first daughter was born I realized there were countless books on how to look after my baby but very little information on how to look after my own needs. After spending a year doing intensive research it became apparent why there were thousands of women all over the world suffering from exhaustion, loneliness, anxiety & depression as a result of motherhood. In addition to those who identified themselves as suffering from postnatal depression, many more mothers were just hanging in there because they did not see their symptoms as extreme enough to warrant seeking help. So, I decided to write Perfect Mum to support mothers and to empower them to be and feel their best. In doing so they would improve their self esteem & the self esteem of their children.

NefretitiM:  How did you come up with the title?

Lizzie O’Halloran: The title Perfect Mum is a play on words, as mothers are often searching to be perfect when there really is no such thing as the perfect mother.

NefretitiM: What is the writing process like for you?

Lizzie O’Halloran: As a busy parent my writing occurs at night when the girls are asleep & I edit a lot.

NefretitiM:  What tips or words of encouragement do you have for other writers?

Lizzie O’Halloran: I would advise writers to follow their passions

NefretitiM: Great advise!  Thank You for joining us Lizzie! Pick up your copy of Perfect Mumwww.helpformums.com.
